Why Most Acne Creams Don't Work and What You Can Do About It

By Jon Wong

Acne is one of the most devastating diseases around because it affects us psychologically due to the effect on our appearance. As a Singapore personal trainer, I want my clients to be in the best possible health in all areas including their skin! So here are my recommendations for acne care with nutrition.
Unfortunately most creams don't work that well and can even cause more problems in the long run.
They dehydrate and they exfoliate. This means that your skin ends up feeling "attacked" because it is now drier and weaker. This is bad news because it means that the skin will need to defend itself. It does so by increasing oil production and thus the risk of acne.
What you should try to do is to control the sebum production. Oily skin is not bad. And naturally healthy skin is moist. In fact those who have oily skin are protected from premature skin aging better.
They don't address Acne from the Inside
Acne cream does not address underlying problems. Inflammation, hormone levels, low nutrient levels, stress levels, and oxidative stress. That is why acne solutions need to come more from the inside than from what you can put on your skin.
Here is the correct nutritional approach for solving acne from the inside
Fish Oil - Helps with brain function and that reduces stress, it also is a very strong anti-inflammatory agent. Zinc - Is often deficient in acne patients, so supplementation with a good zinc supplement will improve acne Selenium - Helps with mineral levels and stress levels. It is also a strong anti-oxidant that can help with oxidative stress. Chromium - Helps with good hormone levels as well as regulating sebum production. Green Tea - Helps with inflammation as well as acting positively as an anti-oxidant and as a regulator of hormones.
